The Primary Care Dental Services Clinical Governance Workbook has been produced to provide PCTs with a tool to use to assess achievement of the requirements detailed in the clinical governance framework.
This paper, sent out in October 2006 by the Department of Health to SHA Chief Executives for circulation to PCTs, identifies factors that may account for real or apparent reductions in dental patient charge revenue (PCR), sets out possible action for PCTs to consider to reduce risks to PCR, and suggests a step by step approach to financial forecasting to aid accurate service planning and financial monitoring assessments.
A number of Enhanced Service specifications have been developed using national best practice from locally negotiated services. The specifications and introduction to them can be accessed below. Commissioners and providers are free to use the specifications flexibly to reflect locally identified needs or develop their own services where appropriate.
