NHS Employers have now published version two of the ‘technical requirements for 2018/19 GMS contract changes’ document. A document published by the Carers Trust highlights some of the good practice of identification of carers in general practice. It aims to encourage GP practices with less developed methods to identifying carers, to develop these to allow them to identify carers, and enable carers to get the support they need.
The innovative red bag scheme is helping to provide a better care experience for care home residents by improving communication between care homes and hospitals.
Currently just over 40% of health and wellbeing boards have reported that they have implemented the red bag scheme in their area and a quick guide has been published to help increase this number.
The quick guide aims to support health and social care systems, providing practical tips and case studies on how to roll the scheme out successfully. To support this further, a series of webinars have been planned to provide training, advice and resources for CCGs, NHS trusts and care homes.
A £4.2 million challenge fund to support people with mental health or musculoskeletal conditions to stay in work has been launched by the minister for disabled people, health and work, Sarah Newton, and the minister for mental health and inequalities, Jackie Doyle-Price.
