NHS England has a new form to allow general practice staff to report patient safety incidents to the National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) – the national patient safety incident database.
Reports of harm or near misses to the NRLS provide NHS England with data on incidents from across the country. This enables risks to be identified and appropriate action to be taken including patient safety alerts, learning resources and training.
The General Medical Council (GMC) has published a suite of case studies for employers and responsible officers, which demonstrate how different types of health organisations are preparing for the implementation of revalidation.
Developed jointly with the Revalidation Support Team (RST) in England, the case studies highlight the progress that organisations are making with their plans for revalidation, as well as the challenges they have faced along the way and the solutions they have put in place to deal with them.
