Procurement is the key to the integration agenda
PCC is hosting an event where commissioners can learn about how to comply with the light-touch regime and what the law means for the integration agenda. Delegates can expect a frank discussion with peers and legal experts from Hempsons about procurement challenges and issues facing commissioners.
They will get advice on how to balance risk and minimise challenges, as well as on the commissioning dilemmas posed by EU, procurement and competition law. They will also consider examples of good and bad procurement practice based on specialist law firm Hempsons’ experience of advising healthcare organisations.
Andrew Daly of Hempsons says: “Under the current law, commissioners will need to balance risks. Some may take the view that ignorance is bliss, but a more sensible way to approach the problem is by taking a well- informed approach to risk.”
The event should be attended by senior commissioners, CCG board members, STPs and any organisation interested in unblocking the development of integrated care systems.
