National health screening: government response
The government has published a response to the House of Commons science and technology committee report on national health screening.
It welcomes the committee’s enquiry into how the decision to screen for a condition is made and carried out in the UK. It sets out the government’s response including how it will address each of the committee’s 22 recommendations and maintain the UK’s reputation for high quality, evidence based screening.
Health screening is an important public health tool for the early diagnosis and treatment of a range of serious conditions.
